I am not proud of it at all.I used scraps and cut the apart and rearranged them.I think it is so boring and ugly.but I am going to show you all anyway so you can have a laugh with me.I am not sure I even want to waste time binding it.

annthreecats 11-20-2012 06:35 AM

I like it. Maybe you can place it under your sewing machine or decorate a table with it. I made something similar and I did bind it. I use mine as a pad to place my hot tea pot on.

sash 11-20-2012 06:35 AM

It will make a great table topper; I think it's lovely.

Phyllis42 11-20-2012 07:03 AM

"perfection is not necessary for a quilt to be cherished" is what someone just posted. :) someone will love it.

PumpkinSundae 11-20-2012 07:07 AM

I like it too...especially the border print.

#1piecemaker 11-20-2012 07:15 AM

I bet somebody would appreciate it. I don't think it is all that bad. Put it on a truck that is going to help the people who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. I'm sure they could use a nice warm blanket regardless of what it looks like.

it is just about the size of a placemat or small table topper.a small experiment.

if you want to bind it I will give it to you.

littlebitoheaven 11-20-2012 07:22 AM

I like it! This is how I think quilting began. You make something lovely out of nothing and you did that.

Delta 11-20-2012 07:22 AM

if you really don't like it applique something on it. as a flower, birds, you could applique anything on it. yes bind it and it will be wonderful, and be proud of it finally. I like it myself and I see so much potential in it it.

Bookish One 11-20-2012 08:33 AM

To paraphrase Will Rogers, I never met a quilt I didn't like !!!

QuiltnNan 11-20-2012 10:25 AM

it's definitely not laughable. but if you don't like it, it would make a nice charity item.

CarolMcB 11-20-2012 10:30 AM

Okay, I'll be honest. It's ugly, but the quilting looks great!

Jingle 11-20-2012 01:25 PM

It is very pretty. Just finish it up and give it to someone. You won't be able to see it from your house. Quilting and piecing is just as great as always.

QUILTNMO 11-20-2012 01:43 PM

well i think it looks good not ugly

Marilynsue 11-20-2012 04:26 PM

Oh, I definitely think you should keep it. I would be proud to show it off! Come on, it's a quilt!

TanyaL 11-20-2012 04:36 PM

Did you not lay out the blocks before you put together?

debcavan 11-20-2012 04:56 PM

So now applique some flowers on it or a cat or something you like. Then you will love it. You do wonderful freemotion.

joyce888 11-20-2012 05:14 PM

OK I'm going to agree with you. We all have one of those things that says "What was I thinking?". BTW I didn't laugh, just smiled.

4EVERquilt 11-20-2012 05:49 PM

I like your uglies.

I still look at it and think what the heck, lol.I usually do not post my uglies-just make them go away.Today I thought what the heck.

paulswalia 11-20-2012 06:20 PM

perfect size for a pet bed at the local animal shelter. Practice your free motion quilting on it and gift it to the shelter.

Grace creates 11-20-2012 06:30 PM

Well I see something good that came out of that quilt and that is all of the comments and suggestions. I read comments from some very nice people and it's always nice to read that. The quilting is really lovely.

I'm not crazy about it either...but agree about the quilting. Can you show us the back? Perhaps use it upside down?

I also like the idea of adding an appliqué.

piepatch 11-22-2012 05:13 AM

Your quilt is art! Save it, hang it, or whatever, but don't toss it! There are some pretty fabrics there, and it is your work, and it has a history! Keep it and be proud.

QM 11-22-2012 05:24 AM

I don't care for it like this, If it were mine, I would use it as a background for an applique image, maybe a cat.

wendiq 11-22-2012 08:27 AM

While it is an odd mixture of fabrics, I love the way you made the irregular blocks.....kind of a neat pattern. You know, a lot of us "older ladies" like a small quilt to throw over our knees.....why not finish this off for a local rest home. I'll bet it would be appreciated....:)

My time 11-22-2012 10:58 AM

Yup I agree....it's ugly. But how cool is it of you to post it anyway. Thanks!

milikaa1 11-22-2012 11:06 AM

I actually like it, scrappy quilts are my favorite...I say bind it :).

cowgirlquilter 11-22-2012 02:40 PM

I think this is how quilting began...using what we have and making it into something useful!!! I think it is great!

sewellie 11-22-2012 07:53 PM

I love it because to me it looks like someone is very resourceful and it's looks warm. I have only seen one ugly quilt in my life and believe me, it was ugly. I think this looks nice and please do not hide it by putting something on top of it. I haven't quilted that long and to me it's very nice. I think someone would be very lucky to be the recepient. Good for you for finishing it. I also like the quilting on it. Please finish it.

Elfi2 11-22-2012 09:38 PM

Well I don't think it's really that bad and if you don't want to use it for yourself why don't you make a donation to the animal shelter, they're always looking for, and very thankful for blankets too.

solstice3 11-25-2012 01:53 PM

it will serve a purpose and be loved by someone.

ube quilting 11-25-2012 02:32 PM

They can't all be beauties, but some are useful. That dark brownish/gray w/ the lavander/cream leaf can also be found in some of my scrappy quilts. HA
peace

G'ma Kay 11-25-2012 03:22 PM

I see this being a cat or dog's favorite place!

fred singer 11-25-2012 04:56 PM

I think it is very nice

bigsister63 11-25-2012 05:09 PM

It is really not that bad (I have made and seen worst) I think that all it needs is a small inner border of red to give your eyes a break and tie it together.

What's ugly about it?? Was it made with love, or not.
I assume someone already offered to bind it. I love to bind. If no one claims it, I'll trade you for some really "ugly" fabric. http://www.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png

I think it is very pretty, and can be used on any table for different things, but if you still don't like it then just send it my way. I will make good use of it on a table.
