Three of us members of the Moonlight Quilter's Guild in Bellingham Washington (www.moonlightquilters.org) made quilts using the same pattern. Mine is 3/4 done in pinks, Harold's is in blue/white and Cora's is in bright purple and green.

None of us knew the others were doing it. I think Harold's was made by his daughter and/or his wife

Amazing how different they look!!!! Thought I would share them with you.

Mine is just like this one: 3/4 finished

They are very well done, though I do like the pink best. What is the pattern? I like the shading.

It is always interesting how the same pattern in different color schemes changes the look! All are really stunning.

Lovely quilts :)

BETTY62 02-20-2011 09:22 PM

They are all very nice.

Beautiful quilts!!!

I am partial to the purple and green one!! Those are my favorite colors !!!!

Corky 02-20-2011 09:41 PM

Because he said that this quilt was made by his wife and/or daughter, I just can't remember if they both worked on it together or which one made it. They all three quilt.

Harold does nice work, this one was one he didn't do.

I bet you thought I was making an assumption because he's a guy!!!

The pattern is in a book called Pieced To Fit by Sheila Sinclair Snyder.

The quilt takes a loooonnnng time (IMHO!) I've been working on mine for about 4 years. Mind you, I put it away and don't work on it for a few months at a time. I can only do so many HST at a time before i need a break!

I am determined to finish it now, though, that I've seen how gorgeous Harold's and Cora's are!!

I love taking classes for that very reason! You get to see everyone's interpretation and colors...very nice!

Corky 02-20-2011 10:28 PM

Me, too! Although, these weren't classes, just members of the same guild working on the same quilt pattern without knowing it!

My problem, though is that I end up with lots (LOTS) of UFOs from classes! Some year I will make a resolution to make it the year of 'Finishing the Unfinished'!! (not this year, though!)

No, just to work for awhile & then off to Alaska to work the fishing & crab boats. Sure don't want him on those boats, but he is a big boy & has to go where the work is.

Love the quilts, isn't the personalization great, the 3 quilts have an entirely different feeling about them.

Corky 02-21-2011 08:13 AM

I feel your concern. Grew up in Alaska and know the dangers. They are always our babies, aren't they? Let's trust he will be alright. Momma hugs to you.
