Sashing
No sashing

If you want it bigger put in sashing, I like sashing myself. Make the outside border the same as the sashing.

sashing.........beautiful blocks

Tartan 04-13-2013 08:54 AM

Looking good! It would depend on the quilting pattern for me. If you wanted to do feathered wreaths in the large white part where the blocks meet, then no sashing. OR snowball the white corners for a red square in between the blocks. OR add sashing.

ontheriver 04-13-2013 08:55 AM

I think sashing will really frame the blocks and give the eyes a place to rest as they move from one beautiful block to the other.

MartiMorga 04-13-2013 08:57 AM

Sashing.....love your blocks.

nygal 04-13-2013 09:13 AM

I vote for sashing!! I love the colors.

Halo 04-13-2013 09:16 AM

I, too, think sashing with those beautiful blocks. Your finished quilt is going to be stunning.

quilter68 04-13-2013 09:19 AM

I like your quilt and would really like to see it better. I would not put sashing but what do I know.
Are these Dresden Plates of all the same fabric in each one? The centers look interesting.

sewsewquilter 04-13-2013 09:41 AM

I vote sashing :)

Ccorazone 04-13-2013 10:21 AM

The blocks are all different. Not a single repeated fabric in the lot. The centers are machine embroidered. I think I'll go with a sashing because I want the quilt to be a little larger. 1 or 2 inch strips should do it.

mighty 04-13-2013 10:24 AM

I vote sashing, beautiful work!

irishrose 04-13-2013 10:26 AM

I vote sashing and cornerstones, but I do like the idea of the snowballing the corners. That wouldn't make it larger, though.

QuiltnNan 04-13-2013 10:37 AM

i like sashing most of the time... but your dresdens are stunning against the white, just as they are.

BizzieLizzie 04-13-2013 10:37 AM

It looks good without sashing, though it would look good with sashing too. It all depends on the look you want to achieve. Beautiful blocks. Thank you for sharing. :)

Sashings! Your blocks are beautiful. However, I would add sashings to give place for the eyes to rest. Tinker

QUILTNMO 04-13-2013 03:13 PM

i say sashing !!!

KSue 04-13-2013 04:33 PM

I like sashing.

Gladys 04-13-2013 05:03 PM

Oh my I can't decide. I'd have to lay it out take another picture and compare the two.

debcavan 04-13-2013 05:17 PM

I would go with sashing. It is so wonderful with so many reds.

Sandra in Minnesota 04-13-2013 05:29 PM

I am doing a Dresden plan on white, and am also wonder if I should sash or no sashing. I think I am leaning toward sashing. Try putting pieces of fabric between the blocks to get a better idea. Good luck!

mom-6 04-13-2013 08:13 PM

Beautiful! I think sashing would really set it off.

Cookie46 04-13-2013 09:56 PM

I like sashing. Beautiful quilt!!

quilt-n-girl 04-13-2013 10:39 PM

I think it will look great with sashing, and corner stones. That is what I use in most of my quilts. Can't wait to see it finished, keep up the good work.

Gilly 04-14-2013 02:33 AM

I vote no sashing so that they're floating on the white!

gabeway 04-14-2013 04:32 AM

I'm a sashing type of guy. I think it highlights the squares.

nunnyJo 04-14-2013 05:03 AM

on a personal note, it needs sashing to finish. beautiful

alikat110 04-14-2013 07:01 PM

Glad that you are sashing!. Great Dresden

sewmerry 04-14-2013 07:03 PM
