Hi everyone!
This is my second quilt and I need some opinions. As you can see from the picture, the quilt is quite dark. The sashing with cornerstones has been sewn on everything except the sides. As you can see, the top and bottom cornerstones are blue (the sides will be blue as well). I want to brighten up this quilt and have limited amount of colorful t-shirt scraps. Also, the back of the quilt will be done is MSU material which is white and green. With that being said, any ideals? Thanks so much! Newbie Barb |
I don't have any opinions but I like it, I think when you put the sides on in blue I think you said it will brighten it up...good job...

I think your quilt looks great now, I can't think of anyway to improve it.
 P.S. Love the pieced blocks in the corner! |

I agree - the sides will brighten up just right. I think it's perfect.

Looks nice

What are you going to do for the binding? That could be a fun way to brighten it up.

Great job!!!!!!!!!!

I think it is fine....however you could vary the colors of the cornerstones with some other bright colored scraps...just an idea
|
I think if you are going to have some blue on the sides, that should brighten it up enough. Also, the green and white on the back will add color to the quilt. I like your quilt, and think a little blue on the sides is all it needs.

One does not need to have more t-shirt fabric to make borders and binding. In fact, after making a few of these quilts, I find 100% cotton works best for those outside pieces. It is not a problem with the fused backing on the t-shirt blocks. Here is a link of mine which was posted some time ago. It may give you an idea of how borders can change up the view. Good luck. Yours is looking very nice. I like to corner stones inside the quilt.

I like it the way you've done it.

It looks great. I would use either the green or the purple to bind.
