I picked up a Curious George coloring book with the intent to make some applique blocks from it. That is if my 5 year old does not take it from me before I get them all done

I have picked out the pictures that I would like to do. I have created one block from scrap fabric to test everything out. I tried to stitch in the eye brows but was not happy with my ability to do so, so I used a permanent black marker to put in the black lines. I am more happy with this option. Not sure what I will do with the tongue, will have to think about it. Did do a ziz-zag on one of the feet for the accent lines. Not sure about that one either. I am liking the accent lines on George, they seemed to turn out good.

Looking for any and all opinions on this "TEST" block. One more thing to mention, my applique skills are what a person would call a newbie, but I am willing to try anything.

What a great job so far! I think he is darling!

He's sooooo cute! When I'm doing inside lines I use the "triple" stitch it goes forward two & back one (I think) and makes a nice line, I prefer using it over the narrow zigzag.

I think you are doing great! Don't forget to heat set the lines you draw before washing! The more I look at him, the broader my smile gets! I love Curious George!

I had not done that on this block but fully aware that it is needed before washing. Thanks.

This is the only one that I have done. I have three sets picked out. Each set gets a little harder for me. I am starting on the simple ones first. I still need to pick up a few things for the quilt blocks so just playing right now.

Will have to look into this and try it out. Thanks.
