My daughter is a first year choir teacher. Fundraising has been a constant thorn in her side, and she's wound up spending a lot of her own money on the choir for accompanists, awards, etc. etc. etc. I had the idea to do an opportunity quilt to be raffled at her first concert next year, which is shared between the band and the choir--thus, more parents are present! This is what I came up with. I wanted it to have a music theme, but nothing specific to either the band or the choir, but I couldn't find enough affordable music fabric. I did find one, and I'm going to back it with a black & white music fabric. I'm hoping it's something that high school kids will like. I'll have it machine quilted. What do y'all think? How much should we charge for raffle tickets?

WOW very bold I am sure HS kids will love it.
As for how much to charge that depends on alot of things. How well off are the parents? Is this for parents or the kids?
We did 2 raffles at my old school the one that was $3 a ticket didnt raise any money but the one that was $1 was a hit, but the parents were from a very poor neighborhood. The teachers did ALOT from their own pockets and most felt they got back more than they gave.
GOOD LUCK I hope yall raise alot of money.

That looks awesome!

I'd go for a $1 ticket too, just make sure you have more tickets than you would if it was $3.

$1 is so negligble, people don't mind handing it over. And better to sell more tickets for less, than just a few for more.

That is such a great fund raiser idea! I'd ask $5. Most are willing to pay that because it is for a good cause.

let us know how it went with the raffle.

You could do $1.00 or 6 tics for $5.00 . I agree make it more affordable and people will buy more. It is a great quilt ! very generous of you to help not only your daughter but the school also !

Beautiful Quilt!!!! What a great cause :D :D :D I would do $1 each 6 for $5 If someone can afford $5 $10 or $20 they will spend it, this way everyone can have a chance to be able to help out with atleast a ticket or two. :D

Very bold! I'm doing a black-whit-red music quilt too but as a gift.

Tickets: $1 or 6 for $5. That's usual pricing at the shows in my area.

Gorgeous - love the colors! I'm sure it will make loads of money! Great job! I agree with $1 a ticket with 6 for $5.

Thanks for your suggestions. $1 per ticket and 6 for $5 sounds like a good plan. We'll raffle this off at the Christmas concert, hopefully appealing to parents who'd like to get their kids something cool that everyone else doesn't have. Fortunately I have some time to get it quilted and bound before then!
