Purse I made with pattern, then did my 'own thing'. Including bead work.

Bible cover I made with no pattern and did bead work.

You even put a key fob in the purse. Both items are beautiful, very well done!

The purse was a pain to make. I'm so used to quilting directions that following a sewing pattern drove me batty until I finally 'got it'!
I used to sew my own clothes, but it's been a while so was stumped for a while. Now that I have it figured out I need to do another one and see how quickly I can finish it.

I had fun doing the bead work.

Ditter43 04-07-2010 02:53 PM

I actually got it at Walmart $2.00 per yard! We don't have any more, but I've seen it since on other fabric web sites and I think Somewheresewing.com has it also. It's a lot more than the $2.00 a yard though.

Love them both. A good friend of my DS is a music major at Franciscan University and I was going to make her a wall hanging and that fabric would be perfect. Who would have thought that there was religious fabric with instruments. You said you got it at Walmart but is there a name/designer on it????????

I'll check in the morning. I just got home from a LONG day at work and am too tired to even look at my sewing room. lol

O.k. so I checked ---- Google "Somewhere sewing". It's a local quilt shop here. But the fabric can be found under 'music' in the search and then it is called "Light Of The World". They have it for $8.75/yard. But I know they have it as I saw it in their store the other day.

Awesome!! Love both. Now I know what to do with my Angel remnant I bought! I'll try making it into a Bible cover! It amazes me you did it with no pattern!! Would love to get a PM about how to go about making the Bible cover!! My remnant is 45 inches wide and 25 inches long. Would that be enough? was thinking of making 2 of them.

Cookie64 04-09-2010 03:37 PM

Very nice work!

Depends on the size of our Bible.

I am going to work on a tutorial for it like I did "The Ultimate Pin Cushion" but it will be next week sometime.
