Great quilt.

LGJARN52 06-09-2014 06:15 AM

Great job!!! I never would have thought to do something like that!!

sewbizgirl 06-09-2014 06:19 AM

You made a great quilt. I wish you had shown us the back too.

BerninaGirl 06-09-2014 06:22 AM

It looks like a variation on a half log cabin pattern.

BrendaK 06-09-2014 06:58 AM

Super. I love this. Great use of scraps. BrendaK

tessagin 06-09-2014 07:02 AM

This is just so very pretty. The black and brown frame and bring everything together.

lbc 06-09-2014 07:15 AM

Scrap quilts are not my favorites but I like yours. I think what I have decided is that I like the quilts that have a solid or seems solid fabric separating the scrappiness.

MargeD 06-09-2014 07:18 AM

You did a great job using your SIL's strips. Like the use of black in the quilt.

sharisews 06-09-2014 07:41 AM

Your quilt is beautiful. I do know the feeling of being tentative for a scrappy quilt. I love the looks…..but have a problem taking the plunge.

laughingquilter 06-09-2014 07:50 AM

Wow! Beautiful!!

Beautiful quilt

silverfoxmag 06-09-2014 08:20 AM

Stunning! Planned crappies are fun to make and this proves it.

silverfoxmag 06-09-2014 08:23 AM

Forgot to ask.......How big are your small squares?

llong0233 06-09-2014 08:57 AM

Lovely quilt. You have the artistic vision it takes to see the quilt in the making. Some of us can see a box of scraps, see a pattern but could not put them together in our minds-eye. You have the gift and you used it beautifully on this one. Congratulation.

charhend 06-09-2014 09:14 AM

Maybe she will send more scraps to you. You did w beautiful job on this one.

Prim Quilts 06-09-2014 10:12 AM

That is awesome!!!

Chasing Hawk 06-09-2014 10:16 AM

Beautiful work there! Did she ask for it back?..........:)

Did you send her a box in return?

LindaMRB 06-09-2014 11:07 AM

This is very nice! I especially like the high contrast in some areas and that pop of red and pink in others. Very Well Done!

BETTY62 06-09-2014 11:11 AM

Wow! Your SIL will be in shock when she sees this beauty.

IBQUILTIN 06-09-2014 11:12 AM

I would think your talent might intimidate her just a little. Talk about making a silk purse from a Sow's ear. Great job and what a nice quilt for very little

javin22 06-09-2014 12:06 PM

Oh Wow!! I love that!! The colors are great!

RedGarnet222 06-09-2014 12:24 PM

You sure showed her what to do with these miss matched fabrics! This turned out so very nice!

JanieH 06-09-2014 03:45 PM

Makes me want to get out my AccuQuilt Go and start cutting 1 1/2" strips. You did a fantastic job! I love how you used the black fabric to frame the squares.

ccthomas 06-09-2014 05:38 PM

Nice motivator to do a scrappy quilt.

joyce888 06-09-2014 06:58 PM

Beautiful quilt!

Pilgrim 06-09-2014 07:16 PM

Scrappy is scrappy. I always accept scraps. They make beautiful things in my opinion. As Bonnie Hunter says, "If you think it's ugly, just cut it smaller."

nanny 1999 06-09-2014 08:29 PM

Beautiful did you have a pattern as I am fairly new to quilting . I love this. You did a great job.

nancia 06-09-2014 08:53 PM

add my name to the others who would love the pattern, AND who want to see the back! you made a gorgeous quilt!

solstice3 06-09-2014 09:06 PM

Turned out great

Great job! Thank you for sharing pictures and ideas. I am also committed to using as much stash and scraps as possible. Your quilts is very pretty.

lizzie3 06-10-2014 12:38 PM

It's just gorgeous!!

RobertaMarie 06-10-2014 12:49 PM

This quilt was made from scraps that I sent to my sister-in-law (Jean MaDan) and she posted it on her blog spot: http://madanquilting.blogspot.com/
You can see the front and back, and remarks about how she mace it. She does tutorials for a lot of her quilts, and is quite generous in sharing. She is much younger than I am and I am still learning from her. See her blog and contact her if you have more questions.
Thanks for all the kind remarks, all I did was mail her some of my scraps.
Blessings, Roberta Marie

ljptexas 06-10-2014 02:17 PM

Oh, wow! It is gorgeous! Sooooo colorful… I just love scrappy!!! The black just makes the colors pop.. The SIL just didn't realize she had a treasure in the making… Not everything has to match, huh??? That's scrappy!

redquilter 06-10-2014 02:31 PM
