I am envious. I live in a circa 1997 house and it is filled with antiques, which seem somewhat out of place

No, we did not do any additions, that was all done by the original owner. We are only the 3rd owner. All original floors in the house and 12 ft ceilings. Huge kitchen with a reclaimed wood countertop 3" thick.
