After the 4 robbin babies left the nest we debated whether or not to leave the nest. I had a hunch that if we left it alone another bird would move in and I was right. Yesterday I noticed a pair of mourning doves flying in and out of the tree. this is what I found.

how cool, i really did not think another bird, especially a different breed would use an old nest!

I am not surprised that the mourning doves found the nest and moved in. I swear those birds are the worst nest builders I have ever seen. They nested on our pine tree once and it was a pitiful collection of odd sticks on a branch and in the first wind it all came down.
