You combine four quarter log cabin blocks, adjusting whether the small log is in the middle or pointing out. The middle four has the small logs all together to make what looks like one big square. Hope that makes sense, it's a simple block with a clever layout to make it look impressive.

What striking quilt. Love it.

My biggest fear was that my seams wouldn't match up and it would look atrocious, but the truth is that when you are looking at the whole quilt, you don't even see the near misses. Really, it was not a difficult quilt to make, and since all the logs were the same, you could daisy chain sewing them, which sped things up.

I encourage everyone to make one, lol!
