It took me 2 months to make this top because I really did not like it. I really have a hard time doing what someone else wants. Now that the top is done I am liking it. Its soon to be new owner loves it. I made sure that she approved every little step I made. She is not a picky person I just wanted to make sure it was what she wanted. I still have to get it sandwiched, quilted and binded. It is so enormous. The couch it is on is a really large couch, one of those that you can put 5 or 6 ppl on maybe 7 if you had too.

excuse all the thread, I haven't cleaned it up yet

I did not like it that some of the colors wound up being in a row and I wanted to rip it apart and do it over but she loved it as is and told me to leave it alone.

Now the problem is going to be how to quilt it on my little machine.

I really like the quilt design. Great colors also. As to quilting it.....I am quilting a queen size on my little sewing machine. Just take it slow and remember to breath. LOL

But if I breath I will mess up. LOL.

Wow, I think you did a great job.

cjomomma 09-25-2010 02:50 PM

Thank you. I'm gonna take it over tonight and see if it is big enough for her bed or I should say big as she wants it.

Very good job! The pattern kind of grows on you. I like black/red together.....classical

sueisallaboutquilts 09-25-2010 05:18 PM

Great job. Is she a fan of the Nebraska Huskers? Those are their colors.

Beautiful quilt, if she likes it should be what counts. Great job.

I think it's great. Love the color combo. Great job.

Love the colors in the quilt. I think it looks sort of dressed up.

Haven't decided how to do the quilting yet. I am waiting for it to tell me what it wants, does that makes sense?

No she isn't. That is the color of her bedroom. The walls are red or almost a dark rust. The trim is black and the doors are white. It matches perfectly to her room.

cjomomma 09-25-2010 07:46 PM

Thank you everyone, you are making me feel better about it.

trisha 09-25-2010 08:41 PM

I quilt California Kings on my little machine all the time. All you have to do is get past the middle and the rest is smooth sailing. Oh, and don't breath til you get past the middle!! LOL

SharonD 09-25-2010 10:50 PM

Well Done.

charismah 09-25-2010 11:03 PM

Well I think you did a fantastic job! It looks very modern...very nice. Although I have to say good luck on the quilting you are BRAVE for attempting that on your little machine!

Qbee 09-26-2010 12:23 AM
