Wow, I am impressed! What a beautiful job you did of it. I think I will have to get some painters drop cloths just to see what I can come up with. Your rug is lovely and just like you, I think it will wear very well. I can also see painting on the cloth before using it. Maybe taping it off to make a plaid design. Lots of ideas swimming in my head...thank you so much for sharing.

Love the idea:) It's got the old wheels turning~just think of the possibilities. If you don't like the white....paint it:)

I was just thinking along the same lines! Why not quilt a drop cloth that has splotches of paint all over it! Needlefruits idea is great and it has opened up a whole new idea! What an inspiration starter.

Interesting. I like the finished look, and the idea, but have to say, white on the floor would never fly in my house full of men! Good job!

oh I so agree! Also have dogs that would make washing daily a must!!

Update on Painter's Canvas Drop Cloth rug...

Well as usual, one idea breeds another---love the idea of painting on the canvas. That made me think of finding a painter who would part with an 'experienced' drop cloth with paint on it---that could be fun also. Also thought of tea/coffee dyeing (sp?) a dark beige. We also have a dog---Sally, the black lab, who sheds enough hair in a week to make a whole new dog. Guess what? The hair vacuums off like magic with a regular vacuum brush for bare floors. The rug has been 'in service' for about 4 days now, and it's very 'cushy' and just stiff enough to stay flat. I've already made another and will make more. Would love to see pictures if anyone decides to expand on the idea!
