zelda2 01-06-2011 06:41 AM

that is gorgeous!

DJ 01-06-2011 06:49 AM

You're doing a wonderful job! I have that book and tried one of the quilts which was supposed to be a queen size and only ended up being a wall hanging. I have 10,000 little pieces left in a tote.

rosemaynes 01-06-2011 08:15 AM

I love it.

Sharonsews 01-06-2011 12:46 PM

I have heard that the Amish always makes a mistake on purpose in their quilts. Is this true?

IBQUILTIN 01-06-2011 02:04 PM

Sew neat!!!! Great job, can't wait to see the finished project

tutty 01-06-2011 02:50 PM

Wow can't wait to see finished !!! Beautiful

Shemjo 01-06-2011 02:50 PM

Wow! Glad you saw the mistake and fixed it. You would have noticed it when you added the next bit, but it would have been more difficult to fix. I am going to have to go back to the basics for a great quilt!
Keep us up with your progress.

Friendly Quilter 01-06-2011 03:42 PM

It is going to be a beautiful quilt when it is done, because it is already wonderful.

Tweety2911 01-06-2011 03:44 PM

Beautiful, love the layout.

marveenc 01-06-2011 05:27 PM

I am also a hand quilter and have made several log cabin quilts.
My quilting solution is to quilt circles over each motif. That way
you do not have to battle every seam. For me, putting circular designs on square patterns and square designs on circular patterns is just one more element of contrast.

My son has the first quilt I did this with 25 years ago. It has been washed once a week during that time and not a stitch has come loose!

Whatever you do, it will look gorgeous. I really love your color palette.

I hate to say this but the block on the right outer block is wrong! You won't be happy if it isn't fixed! I do love the pattern!! Was it a download pattern or in one of Pam's books?

It has been discontinued, I can understand why  , there is no way I would make this quilt for that price!!!!
While it is really an relatively easy pattern, it is one that I have pressed a lot AND used a lot of starch. It is labor and thread intensive!!!!
I am half way thru, whew!!! I am a hand quilter and with all of these seams there is no way in the world I would hand quilt this!!!
I also think this may turn out to be a heavier quilt with all of the seams.
The next one will be red, black, and white. IMO, Pam Bono is extremely talented!

Love this. Idont mean to nitpic but is the second square on the right side right?

Your quilt will be gorgeou. I agree with you - Pam Bono's design are awesome!

sandyl 01-07-2011 03:16 AM

Your quilt will be stunning for sure. I think it is so wonderful that folks are willing to point out a whoops because we are all aware of how tedious it is to rip out if not caught early. I love this board!

bjchad 01-07-2011 03:24 AM

It may be time intensive but the investment is certainly worth it. Absolutely beautiful!

AnneT 01-07-2011 03:27 AM

This is just stunning, LOVE it!! The combo of white and red is very pretty. Thank you for showing and BTW recommending the book. I may have to add it to my bookshelf.
