panel-disaster or maybe not

Hi Quilters! This panel or quilt almost beat me.Several times I told my husband I would like to chunk it. The panel felt silky and it seemed no matter how careful I measured the more blocks I added the blouse-z-er or bubblier it looked. I usually don't quilt the QOV quilts myself, but in this case I did. I didn't want the QOV longarmer to have to see my disaster. I think though after I quilted it down, nobody should be the wiser. Anyway, it it what it is and doesn't blouse or bubble anymore.
The stars are the blocks like in my Gold Twin Stars quilt. The flag I made up just by seeing others and the panel is like the one in my Long May She Wave post. Thanks for looking at my projects.-Toogie

Your panel quilt looks great to me! I like how you framed it with the flags and stars. 👍

That looks great!! Glad you finished it. Sometimes we get in a bind with one or another!!~

As I was reading this, my thoughts were: maybe a light interfacing on the back would have made it easier to work with. It is very pretty.

I think you tamed your panel beautifully, and the finished quilt will surely honor some veteran. Great job.

Or not. Very nice.

Very nice panel quilt and really love the blocks you added. Wonderful workmanship. I did a panel quilt once and it was really a pain to get things straight. Don't think I care to do another one either. Thank you for sharing your beautiful quilt

It turned out beautifully. A Veteran will never notice, he/she will just love it.

Panels can be stunning...and your's is! They can also be a pain to work with!

I usually enjoy the challenge of designing around a panel. I didn’t have this trouble When I made Lone May She Wave. It may have been the Star fabric, I just don’t know, but I am glad not to have another one like this. Right now we don’t have any panels to work with. I know our leader said we were out and everybody that had one have already passed them on to me. I really like working with them and so don’t mind taking them off their hands.
