I am not sure what you think is wrong , because they look pretty good to me.

I like the colors the way they are!

??? I'm confused, it looks like you do have a dark-to-light progression. From what I can see on the right side, your original paper pattern is spinning the opposite of the 8-point star you finished. Could that be why you are thinking you don't?

I struggle with paper piecing as well but i think yours looks very good..as they say practice, practice, practice..there are just so many things i want to practice but i think i need to start with time management.lol

Looks great to me. Good for you to tackle a new skill and do it so competently right away. Enjoy the entire project.

I think it looks good. Can't imagine where you think you messed up. At least you have the guts to just jump right in there. I am still procrastinating.

The most thing to remember is. Back to back always. Back of fabric to back of paper. I have taken out stitches way to many times., You will do fine. It is a learning thing trust me. have fun with this. OK?

Oh thank you, thank you - Back to Back- how easy is that to remember? Now I might be able to get through without having to un-sew - haha!

I don't consider them scew-ups. They are hotpads. I have some pieces I didn't scale right, but they look great in the kitchen!
