paper piecing - Niemeyer

My LQS had a class Saturday using Judy Niemeyer's Cappuchino table runner pattern. It's a small shop and we're so pleased the owner has carved out a little class space -there's room for 4 students and a teacher. Three of us had never done any paper piecing and one had a bit of experience. I enjoyed the teacher and the class, but didn't come away with a burning desire to do a lot of this process. I began a new skill and spent the day sewing so ... all good. Here's as far as I got. This is half of what's needed to make a runner. You make one more of each of these units and sash in between. The light blue in the center is my background for sashing. Someday I may even finish it!

Problem is - it has to get in line behind the projects with deadlines.
Grandson's birthday big boy quilt - March 2 (needs a bit more, but basically done)
Wedding quilt - March 24 (partially pieced)
3 baby quilts - showers in April - (one finished, 2 not started, but fabric on hand)
2 retiree quilts for teachers I work with - May 7 (1 partially pieced, fabric on hand)
4 placemats to complete a set I gave my mother for Christmas (she wants 8, I gave her 4) - Mother's Day
Senior piano student recital quilt - May 12 (almost finished quilting)
Grandson's teacher and aide - 2 quilts - May 24 (not even planned, but will shop my stash)
Church graduates - 3 - May - one is finished, one is pieced, one not started, but will shop my stash)
Wedding quilt - June (may use a top I have on hand)

So .... this little project is in line. I'm going to a 4 day retreat in July - that may be when it gets finished. Hope I can remember how to do it by then!

Your contrasting colors look great together. Finish the project, it deserves to get done and be displayed:thumbup:

Looks really good! I agree, pp'ing isn't my favorite technique, but there are times when it's the best way to put a block together. It's good to take a class to learn how to do it because it sure can get confusing when you try to figure it out yourself. Ask me how I know:o

very nice great colors!!!!!

Very pretty colors and great sharp lines. I love paper piecing. I'm usually so successful when I use this method. If you can sew a straight line, it usually turns out great.
