I had some leftover fabric from my camper bedroom curtains. I forget what it's called but it's kinda thick canvassy textured but not that heavy (we like no light shining in BR windows). Anyway, I started playing around yesterday with the scraps and came up with this reusable shopping bag. I think it's pretty- now, if I can just remember to take it IN the store with me!

LOve it, love the fabric design too!
:) |
Love your bag and the colors. I also leave mine sitting on the front seat of the car sometimes when I go into the store LOL!
One problem I've had with using cloth bags all the time is now I've run out of "dog walking" bags (you know what I mean--don't want to get too graphic here in case someone's still eating breakfast). So I guess it's okay to have those senior blonde moments when I forget the cloth bag. |
Very nice!!!!!!

I love it. I bet your curtains are very pretty and decorative. Fabric is soooooooo nice. I need to make me up some bags. I have also seen where some have taken bags with advertising on front and put patch work blocks on top and they are cute too. Thanks for sharing.

Did you just make up a pattern or did you use a commercial one? I already have some cloth bags but need to make some more. Thank you

Fantastic way of using all your scraps, waste not, want not!!

I made myself some shopping bags from some khaki pants fabric I knew I would never use. Works really well, but I also forget to put them back in the car after I use them. I had the problem, tho", that when I went to self-checkout and started filling my bags, the computer kept telling me there was a foreign object in the bagging area. The attendant kept coming over and pushing buttons so I could continue. What a PAIN!!! Hope they have solved that issue by now...

WOW what cool fabric!
Nice design on the bag too You should really stylish walking into the grocery with it. |
 :D

Does anyone know what to use to make them insulated? I'd like a bag that kept cold items cold in case I have to make another stop before going home. I know Insulbrite protects against heat but is there something for cold? Thanks for your help.I thought I'd ask on this thread because you all seem to use or make shopping bags.

Great bag!!
Just make sure to remember that if you carry meats from the grocery store in it that you wash it regularly!!!! They have found tons of bacteria in all these reusable bags because of meats and milks in those things. |

Great bag. Tee hee, that would be my problem-leave it in the car.
