Finally found some fabric today for Robert's and Patty's centers. Hope they work out as I hope they will. They are going into the wash shortly. I hope to actually be able to sew tomorrow afternoon for the first time in more than a week. |
That's beautiful Robert what's on the corners?
|
all very nice!!
|
Very nice block!

They are monagram medallions it has lattice background with metallic gold and then the most incedible satin embroidery around it. I didn't put in Abonda's monogram in case she didn't want it, but I know there is someone in Maine that has a machine that can put a monogram on them for her.
I had a blast doing tis part of Abonda's quilt. R

Okay, Robert, here is your center. I really struggled with what to do with this one, but think I like how it came out and hope you do, too.

Here is only a sneak peak at LJ's block. The inspiration was the hydrenga's in the center. I was going to hand applique the hydrengas, but I found a machine embroidery design. I chose to use purple for the strip to tie in with the purple in the center and Abdona's AMAZING cut strip. I have never seen anything like it. Then I added the cranberry butterflys to tine in with the (arrowhead strip?)
It looks really great in person. Hope you like it. No worries Judy. It will be a week or so to get it done. This one side took me 6 hours. YIKES R Sorry for the pic, my camera doesnt take good color. The colors are spectacular really. |
Could we all meet in the middle when these are done? Or Skype?
|
Robert, that border on LJ's quilt is drop dead gorgeous. Oh, goodness. I can't wait to see it in person.
|
Only 6 hours? Beautiful!
|

Ok Judy your original block had pinecones I was going to embroider some but I noticed this one doesn't are you going for a winter theme and do you want pine cones or would you rather flowers? I can do either I have pretty flowers too.
|
Either works for me, Deb. I don't have any preconceived ideas on what this should be so am anxiously waiting to see how it evolves.

Beautiful!

Pretty!!

Okay, Dotty, here's your second round. (looks like I didn't smooth it out very good - sorry). I am still not sure I like the cornerstones (in the picture they stand out a lot - doesn't seem as much so in person though). My thinking was to bring some of the dark green from the center outward. If you don't like it, I'll be glad to figure something else out.
I had originally planned on doing a very plain row, but when I was looking through my embroidery designs one night I ran across this design and thought it would work on this beautifully. Let me know what you think about the cornerstones. |
WHAT.............that is so gorgeous.......it is unbelieveable.
WOW Grat great job. R
