Well it has been a miserable and cold Sunday here in 'sunny' Spain, temperatures haven't managed to get above 0 deg C, so what does a girl do with herself inbetween projects and so close to xmas????

Make these of course :D

These are the 3" version finished size, point to point measures 2"
Needless to say these are foundation pieced and a great way to use up all the little scraps of xmas fabrics I have accumulated from the cushions :D

So a big thank you to ShellyQ, and here is a link to her patterns, there are several of different sizes, if anyone would like to download it :D

Each of the little stars was fussy cut, easy as it was the first piece down, so you don't have to think about it going off to an angle when you flip, like the rest of the pieces

You can see the quilting star

Loretta, we have a tradition in our home, that wherever we roam, be in on holiday, business or whatever, we bring home a little keepsake for the christmas tree, so when we are dressing the tree every subsequent year, we are reminded by all the different ornaments of lovely memories, the little bear is musical and was bought in Edinburgh quite a few years ago, and still plays ' Auld Lang Syne' :D

Those are just too cute!
Gives me an idea for craft fair!

The 3" are a bit fiddly, but the larger ones are lovely too Terri, and there are 8" and 10" which make lovely round placemats or pot holders etc :D

I just love these little ornaments. You did a fantastic job with them. I might even try a couple for our tree this year.

Happy Holidays,

Jan I sent Shelly a pm, asking how she is as we don't see much of her, not heard back yet, will let you all know if I hear from her :D

Very nice.

I love the ornament. I went to a craft show this summer and someone was making ornaments with styrofoam balls that had looked like little quilting squares. Has anyone made any of these before?
P.S. I know this is probably the wrong place to talk about this. But this ornament reminded me of this summer.

Those are really neat, but i don't think I can make anything that small.

Wow, how large are those? They look like a good size for drink coasters. :?:

Izy 12-15-2008 07:08 AM

Susan there are about 3" finished I think :D Although after all the fiddly sewing I would be reluctant to chance getting them stained :D

Those came out fabulous!
I really love them and am planning to add it to my to do list.... hey.. I think they are already on my to do list!! It's just sad when your to do list is so long that you begin to forget what is on it!

These are gorgeous. From the time we were first married 'til now we have made sure that each year we have at least one (!) new handmade ornament on our tree... we remember the first ones as we place them on the tree each year - we've been married 22 Christmases and have alot of memories now... :)
