I was lucky enough to find this beautiful quilt in a thrift shop in Tracy, CA. From what everyone tells me the fabrics are from around the 40's but I have not been able to find out what this pattern is called. Anyone have any information on this?
|
i'll assume you forgot to post the pic because if you're talking about the quilt in your avatar its about 5 years old tops.
|
The quilt in your avatar is beautiful!!
:D :D :D :D :D |
The quilt in your avatar looks like a Ricky Tims Convergence. I love the colors!
|
I'm having trouble attaching the pictures. I've "attached" them several times but they don't show up in my msg. Any ideas?
|
Are you preveiwing? If you do, it loses the attachments. Just attach and post.
|
are you clicking on the "preview" button before you try to post?
if you are, don't do that. for some reason the pic gets lost. |

You're the best! That's exactly waht I was doing, "previewing". Just didn't understand what was going on. Must be a glitch. Thanks a bundle!

That's really pretty!
There's someone on the board that is making that block. Can't for the life of me remember. I think I saw it in one of the PDAs, but not sure. Maybe it's Amma or Kwhite? I'd go and look, but I gotta run. |
Beautiful quilt!!

Okay, in my book it shows the same setting(with the white square on point) but it has the square colored and the other piece in white, anyway it shows several names:Five Cross, Church Windows, Lattice Block and Ogden Corners. Then with the square set straight, in different color variations, It goes by Old-Fashioned Quilt, Ozark Tile Pattern or Honeycomb variation.
Great quilt!!!! :D |
What a great find! I love it!!!
|
I believe that it is called Jack in the box. My grandma had one like it. It probably has other names as well depending where in the country it was made.
|
I don't know the name of it, but what a great quilt you found! I like all the old fabrics in it. That sure was a ton of work she put into it.
|
It looks like a hatchet block, laid out in fours.

Thanks for your help. I'll research these names further.
