I got this quilt top at a moving sale last week. All hand pieced and hope to get the maker's info to add to the label, but I'm not sure what the block name is. Any help will be appreciated.

What a great find!
Sorry I can't help you with the name, but it sure is purty.
What a wonderful find wish I could help with the name
My book calls the block: Odd Scraps Patchwork
Also here's a breakdown of how it's put together: http://www.flickr.com/photos/piece__of_me/5002397399/ |
My Kansas City Star Quilt Pattern Collection, calls it Single Wedding Ring or Nest and Fledglng
It's a great quilt!
Thanks all for the block names. I think I'll add them to the label too!
Super quilt, what a treasure!
My great aunt made one and she called it single wedding ring.
i think its called wedding ring.
I also know this block by the name "Crown of Thorns"
"5,500 Quilt Block Designs", by Maggie Malone has it as Crown of Thorns, Georgetown Circle, & Memory Wreath.
Hope that helps. |
Nice quilt, but I don't know the name.
I seen it called the Wedding Ring.
Beautiful. Do not know the name.
Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns calls it:
Old Scraps Patchwork Mill Wheel English Wedding Ring Vice President's Block Old Fashioned Wedding Ring |
What ever it is called.... It's pretty. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
thank you again all for your replies to my query. After seeing the name Crown of Thorns, that is one I have heard before. Maybe if the maker contacts me I can ask if they know what they thought it was.
So many names for one block!
I know this block as English wedding ring or Crown of thorns. I have made it and love the battern!! Great find! :)
I have seen it before, don't know the name. Lots of good suggestions. It is beautiful.
