Pattern on quilt I can't find..............
3 Attachment(s)
I just came into two vintage quilts from a lady that died this summer at the age of 94. I was thrilled and sad at the same time. The pink one I don't know the pattern name and it has some damage on the edges like someone pulled it up under their chin and handled the edges. Plus parts of it is faded. The other quilt is the "double wedding ring pattern". I love the way they did the edges on it. Do they do the edges this way on all the double wedding ring quilts. I will post a picture of this one also. I've been looking everywhere for this pattern so I hope I can find some help here.

the last one is a double wedding ring.
the first I don't know sorry |
I will check my quilt pattern books and see what I can find. Lucky you to get both quilts.
Wow they're beautiful. Congrats.
The first one may be the Idaho block. Both quilts are really beautiful...I like the curved edge on the double wedding ring, have seen quite a few, and it really does the pattern justice. Thanks for sharing your treasures.
Congratulations on receiving the two beautiful quilts.
Not sure about the first one, but the second one is a double wedding ring.
oh, my, such a lucky gal.
Just lovely, great job and thank you for sharing. The treasures go on and on.
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
I think it is "rose dream".
The pink looks like a modified orange peel, I think your wedding ring edges are the 'correct' way they made them many years ago. I have one that my great grandmother made & its like that.
According to EQ's Block Book, #1 is called True Lover's Knot. Great quilts! Sandy 64
logcabinfran is also correct about orange peel; it is listed under the orange peel section. Sandy 64

Beautiful quilts! Don't you wonder where ours will be 100 years from now :)
That is the way my MIL did her double wedding ring quilts.
They are so gorgeous
Beautiful quilts, lucky you. Don't know the name of the block on pink & white one either. I love the edge on the DRR. I made one a few years ago and finished it like that.
It is called True Lover's Knot. I have the pattern in a book titled sew quick Two-Color Quilts. I would be happy to send you the instructions if you would like, just pm me at [email protected].

What treasures......I'm sure they have found a wonderful home.
You can get pictures of the construction of this block in a book titled "The Melon Block" by Elisa Wilson. She also has templates available. I have made the top and it turned out beautifully.
the first one looks like a form of ornage peel the second one is a wedding ring
wow fantastic work, amazing how much work was put into them

I have two double scrappy quilts that my great grandmother made. They are over 100 years old. Both of them have
scalloped edges, just like your quilt. Both are scrappy and are both bound with red fabric......hand quilted (of course) There are a few places where the fabric pieces are thin. The binding has to be replaced, it is very worn. I plan to fix them and pass them on to my daughters. |
I think the first is 54/40 or fight and the second is the DWR. Beautiful quilts.
WOW! Lucky you to inherit them! They are wonderful quilts....treasures!! :)
Lovely quilts!!
My Mother could cut, piece and quilt a d-wedd-ring in 1 wk. She did some with the scallopped edge and some she filled in the area so the edge would be streight.
