The center star of this quilt is made with 2 1/2” strips. There are many beautiful quilts made with that size strips.bargello quilts, French braids and lone stars are just a couple

IMHO the 2 1/2" strip is the most versatile cut there is. It is amazing to me just how many quilt patterns depend on 2 1/2" strips. Starting with a simple strip quilt or sewing a few strips together to make 2: squares that can make many different patterns. Others are giving you great sites to visit for wonderful quilting patterns. Missouri Quilt Co. has some of the best ideas and tutorial for 2 1/2" strips. I would start there. Also check out QIAD. Elenore Burns does a lot with 2 1/2" strips.

I like Trip around the World for jelly rolls. You do have to have at least two of the same strip, though.
