Here is my first pattern ready to stitch together from the book. For this one I used all acrylic felt. The next one I plan to use felt and homespun with yo-yos around the outside.

here's the latest one i made, it has a wool background, some of the appliques are wool, some flannel and homespuns.

I made a penny rug about 10 years ago out of felt, it hasnt faded yet. I love wool, and thankfully,Im not allergic to it, so I use it on most of the ones I make now. You can use anything you want tho, I have made some with flannel, upholstry samples, and wool felt. I really like your pattern!

I like that one ckcowl, very nice colors, you've done a great job with the stitches. I never thought about using flannel, that would be prettier than acrylic. So far I've only made 3 penny rugs and my stitches are still not very even. I just love the look of these rugs, cozy and primitive country.

If using the acrylic fabrics or polyester fabrics be very careful putting hot pans on them... they melt...

Thanks Leota, I've already learned not to iron acrylic, still scraping the burnt off my iron. Got to remember to store it lying flat not folded. lol.
