I've been making "lap robes" that are more like little quilts than to just cover a lap. So, I've started calling them "personal quilts' One person quilts to cover up with when napping in a recliner or whatever.
This one is for a gal who had a terrible sinus infection that went to her brain. She's recovering and in rehab now. The print was inherited as perfectly cut 7" squares. I added the black and turquoise to the 'turning 20" block. It has pale pink, pale peach and pale lilac and there was no way I was going to be able to match any of those colors. So I took the two colors that I could match. |
Lovely!! Good idea!

I make what I call personal quilts too. They are bigger than a lap quilt but smaller than a twin. The perfect size for one person. My personal favorite!

I did start on the ugly squares a while ago. Started thinking about what to do with them. Another thing I inherited was a bunch of 2" strips in a lavender---------good match for the uglys. So I sewed two together to get a 3.5" strip and I'm using only the lavender for the "turning 20" block. Shows up as a lot of lavender. I'll look for some of the others. One set is purple and a matching set is turquoise (tropical prints) that I think I'll use as half square triangles. And another 2 sets are an ugly blue with black tropical and a matching dark red with black tropical. May do a D9P with them, favoring the red. |
Nicely done!
