Wow, Jen. That dark ending just finishes the quilt so perfectly.
What a gorgeous quilt!!!

Lori, I am really curious, do you plan on entering your quilt in a show? I keep coming back to look at it. Every border compliments the center and the style. It is a truly amazing work of art. I'd love to see how it does in a show... I feel a blue ribbon in it's future!!!

I absolutely agree!! I think this one and Melanie's are the two that I've seen that stayed absolutely true to the center, from color to design, etc.

Well, I'm going to add a final border to it to convert the size from square to rectangle, then probably have it professionally quilted (I machine quilt, but this one is just to nice for my level of skill). Once that's done, I'll probably enter it somewhere, but not sure where. My BIL has already asked for it and I told him that I could make him a facsimile, but this one was mine, all mine... LOL

I think everyone did a fantastic job on this and really did stay true to the center. I can't wait to see it finished. I'll be sure to post a picture when its done for everyone to see.

WOW I must add my compliments to Lori's center-I think it is one of my favorites. The workmanship and follow through are very true to the original center-just gorgeous. You are one lucky gal!

pennyswings 10-09-2010 06:03 PM

Mareliba what a lovely finish to a lovely quilt. It was worth the wait.

Iluv2quilt 10-09-2010 06:46 PM

Wow, you ladies really have done a great work of these quilts. I am so sorry to have fallen ill this year. I really missed sewing and all of you and feel terrible that I missed out working on all of your quilts. I understand from writing with SewCornie that you've continued my quilt around. I am sooo grateful and can't wait to see it in completion. Again, thank you for your understanding. If there is anything I can do at this point, don't hesitate to ask and I will do my very best.

LoriJ 10-09-2010 07:29 PM

We just hope you are feeling better. :)

sandpat 10-09-2010 07:55 PM

Susie..they are fabulous aren't they? I'm so glad to see you back on board. You take care of yourself, ok?

Kitsapquilter 10-09-2010 08:18 PM

To LoriJ...I am looking at all your beautiful centers on here and the borders that have been added. Great work by all.
And LoriJ...I live in Port Orchard and my hubby worked in the shipyard at Bremerton for a few years. We are both now retired. We have only lived here for just over 10 years. Nice quiet little place to live! We moved here from Alaska to be near our kids and now we have grandkids so we are here to stay, I'm sure!

KitsapQuilter, I grew up in Bremerton and Port Orchard, graduating from South Kitsap High School. My family lives in Port Orchard and I try to make it back there every couple of years. My Dad retired from the shipyard many many years ago. It's a small world isn't it?

Ladies, I am going over my lists to make sure that all the quilts are either home or headed that way.. I have to admit that I'm lost on a few of the ones in this group. I have that Lori, Marianne and Tisha's quilts are all finished and sent home. I'm not sure about Barbara's, Jennifers and who has Susie's. Would ya'll be so kind as to provide an update as to where these are? Thanks

Patti, here's the rundown on those:

Barbara's is home.

Tisha has Suzi's and mine. She emailed me last week to say she was ready to mail them. She'll be sending Suzi's to Barbara and mine home to me. I'll let you know when I have confirmation that they've been sent/received.

Barbara will add to Suzi's, send it on to me. I'll add the last border and then send it home to Suzi.

Thanks for checking in.

Jen

sandpat 11-01-2010 04:24 AM

Thanks so much Jen. I was thinking that Tisha had the last 2 out in this group. Please do let me know when these make it back to the US. They all have progressed beautifully and I know all of you are so pleased to have your babies home :D:

Just to let you see that this quilt top still exists, and will now be on its way to SewCornie. It's too big for my picture-taking abilities.

sandpat 05-15-2011 05:04 PM

Wow Barbara...I LOVE this one!

JudyG 05-15-2011 05:44 PM

Great job, Barbara. That's really pretty.

sew cornie 05-15-2011 08:06 PM

That looks really pretty Barb. I'll look forward to adding its final border. Thanks for posting the picture. I'm sure Suzi will be thrilled!

b.zang 05-15-2011 09:00 PM

I've always wanted to do a ribbon border, and this quilt seemed like the candidate. I spent a fair bit of time working on a border using the same thirds block already in it, but didn't like how it was turning out. Too bad the picture doesn't do justice to the colours. Suzie, the center is fantastic!!!

sandpat 05-16-2011 04:17 AM

Ya'll are so great to keep this one going..I know that Suzie will appreciate it and just dearly love it!

Iluv2quilt 05-17-2011 09:51 AM

Wow, barbara!! I love what you added, you did a wonderful job of pulling it all together, thank you so very much, I'm so grateful! I LOVE it :-D :-D !

Here is Suzi's final top. Once I get address confirmation from her, I'll send it home. Thank you, Suzi, for being so patient as it took it's time during this journey.

maryb119 06-21-2011 01:19 PM

This is a pretty one! Love the rich colors!

sandpat 06-21-2011 04:59 PM

Super idea to confirm that addy Jennifer!!! Very smart! I just love the quilt, this group did a great job with it!

b.zang 06-25-2011 08:13 PM

So glad to know that quilt is on its way home at last.
You've come in with a strong finish.
