So here are some of the quilts, there were alot (too many in my opinion) wall quilts unless that was the theme this years and I didn't know. I didn't win anything on mine, oh well I will try again at the County fair show.

This one is mine that I put in the show

Thanks!
That bird (just before the elephant) looks so real I would nearly think it wasn't a quilt!

One of the reasons that bird looks SO lifelike is because much of it, especially the lower half of the bird, has some SERIOUS thread painting on it - I think that is the correct term. Lots and lots of thread in the bird's breast area and feathers area. It was awesome!

oh thanks so much for posting these pics. I attended the show but forgot my camera.
i evidently missed a few because i never saw the woman on horseback quit. nor maybe the lovely Drunkards Path one. Did you see the small quilt with the turtle? lovely quilting in that one.

nativetexan 05-02-2011 06:05 AM

Oh Karla, thanks for more pics!!! the Poppie quilts were gorgeous. I fell in love with the brown one!!
also the Parasol ladies quilt was fabulous. shiny beads and buttons on their dresses and hats, matched in color to their clothing. wonderful!!!

starshine 05-02-2011 06:14 AM

Thanks for sharing. Such diversity and all beautiful. I thought it was quite interesting that on the New York Beauty the maker used the fabric of the rays of one block as the background on the one next to it and the colors on the star tips related to the blocks they were next to and the color seemed to radiate out in a spiral.
