I just started a quilting class at our church. We will be making quilts to donate to a hospice here in town. We started with the Schlep bag so I could teach the basics of cutting, keeping 1/4' seams and butting seams for nice sharp corners. Everyone finished in 5 hours...not bad for total newbies!!!! None of these bags in the pics are completely finished.

How wonderful and fun.

Wish I could get our ladies to do something like this. Oh well.

Looks like a wonderful fun class.. Love the schlep bag, i have made many. I taught all my neices and nephew to sew making the humbug bag, they loved it.

Those are so cool, and such a great way to start your class. Now the participants can use them to carry their supplies when they are making those quilts for the hospice.

I have pictures of some I made and gave away as gifts on Picassa(Sewing Projects), link below. They are fun to make and people really enjoy them.

Such a happy looking bunch of Ladies ! I like the range in ages, good to see some younger ones getting into quilting.
Such a good thing to do for others.
