Hi everybody! I have gotten so many nice comments and compliments on the "Star Block Patterns and Some Other Ideas" tutorial, that I decided to post some pictures of some of the star blocks that I made from those patterns. I love star blocks. They are my favorite. Hope you like them.

Marilyn

The top star is the Northumberland Star. It was my 22nd star to be made. 6-27-09 The bottom star is called "Tippecanoe and Tyler Too". It was my 27th star block. I made it on 6-28-09.

These are the 20th and 21st blocks that I made. I loved the Missouri Star but it was a paper piecing pattern. I don't paper piece. But I really wanted to make one, so I did, without paper piecing. I just made it the same way I make every other block. It turned out really great anyways.

I love your stars so much and am now working on my 3rd Carpenter's Star from your directions, only I have now enlarged the 2nd 2 to a 32 inch block.. It is my favorite, too, but I love them all since I have learned to do stars. I can't get enough of them now. Thank you for sharing and thanks again for the directions you posted.

Awesome stars Marilyn. Thank you for sharing. Why don't you paper piece? Just curious. My one attempt drove me nuts with the concept of having to rip that paper out which didn't want to come out. I've been doing some reading on the subject and knowing me will have to try one more time but don't know if I'll like it or not. I also don't do FMQ and the qualifier is "yet" but both of my tries were not pleasant experiences and neither were the results. I'm considering seeing if that can be one of my free lessons on my new sewing machine as the lady is a whiz at it.

Awesome stars from one very talented lady, quilter, and seamstress.

Thank you Patty! You are very kind. I have tried PP twice now.
I really want to learn but I haven't had much luck so far. I will have to keep trying because my motto is, "I Will Win"!
Thanks again!

Hi Marilyn - I am a new joiner and want to make two patriotic star small quilts to hang on my two doors that come into the house - we never use front one but I want it to look nice from the front and to honor the 4th of July!! I am hoping to still find your tutorial and get my projects done. You are very talented -
