I am very, very grateful for that talent! Isn't it great to create something that can delight others and yourself?

The number of stitches per inch depends a lot of the fabric, the batting and the quilting thread I use. In general I can do 14 stitches to the inch, only counted on the top of the quilt. I use a #11 John James or Roxanne and I use a 18" hoop on a floor stand.

Absolutely stunning!

You have an amazing gift! Keep up the good work.

I ordered The Essential Quilter just from going through your posts. If I can learn to be a quarter as good as you, I'll be happy. :D

Thanks for sharing.

This is stunning! Do you do this in a hoop, and what do you use to mark your patterns before quilting?

Wish i could do that!

Yes, I quilt in a 18" hoop on a floor stand. For this quilt I use the method of needlemarking and I also quilt freehand.

Beautiful, as always.

Absolutely amazing. I am always impressed by such beautiful hand work. How long have you been hand quilting to achieve that small, consistent quilt stitch?

Borntohandquilt 06-11-2011 03:39 AM

I have been hand quilting for more that 20 years now - and I only do that! No piecing, no appliqué, only wholecloths.

you make me want to go back to hand quilting. I really should my work is so much better when I hand quilt instead of machine
