[quote=TrenbeathRanch]Nice...er, why a baseball theme? They are both baseball lovers, only differnt teams. So she surprise him with havng the wedding at the Cubbies field here in DesMoines him and his son have been cubbie suporters since I don't know when. He takes his son who is 13 and every spring they go to Arizona to Spring training and spend a week and met the players and get goodies from the players. Dixie likes the Phillies and plays on seveal softball teams in the summer here in town.Even their cake balls that were on the 30tables at reseption were decorated like baseballs.

hi,i'm so happy for all of you, that all worked it out.when my eldest daughter got married, the plan was to have both dads walk her down the aisle.her birth father threw a fit,& rather than make a scene, her 'dad' of 15 years gave in.felt so bad for him,& proud at the same time! but every cloud has a silver lining!she & her"dad" ["step" was never heard in our house]grew VERY close until he passed away11 yrs ago.
if only people would realize how important it is to get along for even just a short time as a wedding!
thank you for letting me vent,&what a wonderful thing it was that youi all pulled together!

Thats the way it is with both my girls, when they each had the grandson first and the granddaughter came.He told some friends that he was a step father, the girls flat out told him he was their grandpa and that was that.We have his kids and my kids, the grandkids grow knowing us as grandpa and grandma, no step in the title.
