donnaree59 09-26-2012 03:55 AM

Beautiful! Your quilting just shows off the embroidery. Very pretty and great job!

Sewfine 09-26-2012 04:42 AM

Wonderful idea! How clever and what a wonderful and useful way to preserve memories and mementos from the past. Beautiful and you have kept the integrity of the patterns of the hand work. I love the gentle swirling of your quilting. Not too little , not too much but just right.

tildiemae 09-26-2012 05:41 AM

What a wonderful way to keep an heirloom!

Damsel in DisDress 09-26-2012 05:41 AM

Very beautiful! What a great way to preserve those precious pillow cases!

debcavan 09-26-2012 05:43 AM

What a fabulous idea. And the quilting , well it was just thrilling to see. I love free motion quilting.

pinebeltquilter 09-26-2012 06:46 AM

These are too beautiful for words. The lady that made these pillowcases was really talented, and the quilting just compliments them. Good job.

Evie 09-26-2012 06:48 AM

What a lovely quilt and beautiful complementary quilting. The pillowcases remind of those my mother made. Unfortunately (fortunately?) we used them a lot, so there aren't any left worth putting into a quilt. But what a great idea!

c joyce 09-26-2012 06:58 AM

That is georgeous! And such a clever recycling of the pillowcases. Your quilting sets them off beautifully.

ItsJustMe 09-26-2012 07:00 AM

Has been fun to quilt..

This is such a great quilt. The fact that you have been able to make something so great out of something so great. Now I know you did this to give some of us more ideas. Thank you for posting these pics.

northern lass 09-26-2012 07:32 AM

Such a brilliant idea! It's beautiful and so is the quilting

fayeberry 09-26-2012 07:57 AM

I just love your quilt, what a great idea.

PolkaBabe 09-26-2012 08:21 AM

Neat idea, too bad I cut away the case & kept the pretty part. However yours brought good memories of them all. :) Thank you for sharing.

Zephyr 09-26-2012 09:15 AM

I love your quilt and the idea of chrocheted pillowcases. Wish I had thought of that before all the ones I had were gone.

Quilt-Till-U-Wilt 09-26-2012 09:20 AM

What a great idea. I have lots and they've never been used.

sparkys_mom 09-26-2012 10:39 AM

That's beautiful. I have a pair of pillowcases and a matching sheet that were embroidered by my grandmother. I always feel bad that I've no real use for them. Maybe I need to rethink this.

luce321 09-26-2012 02:50 PM

What a great idea. Just think how nice it will be when she can see that quilt everyday and admire her gm's work.

alfosa421 09-26-2012 02:52 PM

Is that all one quilt? They are absoluttely stunning especially with your quilting!

These are beautiful. It is hard to tell but did you put them all together and make a large quilt our of them? Could post a larger picture?

mimiknoxtaylor 09-26-2012 03:45 PM

What a beautiful quilt! I have some of those pillowcases from both my grandmothers & some I've done too. It may have to go on my to do list

Mornigstar 09-26-2012 04:17 PM

I feel like "love to sew". Couldn't tell how all the pillowcases went together. Need a pic at a distance of the whole quilt. You would be doing a favor for the many of us who have many of these "special" cases and want to do something big with them. How many cases did you use for this size of quilt is my next question.?
I will come back to this thread in hopes that you answered some of our many questions but until then thank you so
much for sharing. We all appreciate your work.
