Pillows

Hi! These are Memory pillows made from my brother in laws shirts. They are for his two girls. Their dad died from Cancer April 27. I am also making their mom a queen quilt from his shirts. I hope to give them these gifts for Father’s Day as it will be a hard day for them. I want to try to insert some happiness in their first Fathers Day without him. One side is of course the front of his shirts. However, he had a band and was the singer in the group. His band was called Country Diamonds, so I pieced the diamonds, in memory of his band & music. My husband lost two brothers recently. On March 12th one other brother died, from bad health, nothing Covid. It’s been hard for us, but especially these girls. I think they will like these because one shirt was unwashed and still has his scent of after shave cologne. He probably wore it for a short while and rehung it.

That is so thoughtful of you to do this. And I love your ideas to celebrate his life and keep his memory alive.

Such a sweet thing to do for the girls.

I’m so sorry for your losses. The pillows are a beautiful way for your nieces to remember their father.

Such a loving and precious gift for the girls and the quilt for their mother. They may bring a few tears but the gifts will be much loved. What I would do to have such a memory. Thank you so much for sharing.
