Pincushions made!

I thought I would show you the 3 pincushions I made recently. I used small cups I found at junk/antique stores. They were simple and fun to make!

These are very cute and so practical, too. I've been making the thread bag/pincushions that was posted on here several months ago. I'm done 8 of them and already given 4 away. A friend that I had given one to, asked me to make more so she could given them for Christmas. Very quick project and doesn't take much fabric. For the top of the bag (to hold it open) my husband brings me the plastic strips that comes around packages. Works great. I just tape the ends and sew around the bag. Love all kinds of pincushions. So many cute ones! And not boring.

Really nice, They will make great gifts.

Darling pin cushions girlfriend! ;)

They are so cute. What a great idea.

Thank you everyone! The picture doesn't show as colorful as they are, but you do get the idea. They were super fun to make...and yes, I did think of them for gifts as I'm always looking for fun sewing gifts for friends!
|
You did a good job!
|
Nice idea. Very feminine. I like the way you matched the cups with just the right fabrics.
|

I did something simular this year, going to the Goodwill store and finding old cups and saucer to china sets. Glued the saucers to cup and made cushions, then glued them in the cups. I also found a couple of square short pieces of antique crystal and made pin cushions for those too. There was also a sugar bowl that was missing the lid and it made an excellant cushion too. Yours are lovely.

I do that also. The smallest pincushion in the picture I glued the cup to the little saucer. One year, I made candles out of the teacups and glued flowers and ribbon to them...those are also fun to do.
