Pineapple Quilt back from the quilters
1 Attachment(s)
I worked on this months ago and then found out it was to large for my "comfort zone" to be quilted by me on the Janome/Grace II frame that I have so it was sent out to be quilted. It was done by Cotton Cabin Quilts in Dubuque, IA. Originally wanted to have a royal blue background, but had the deep red on hand. The green you see on the right side is another quilt on my bed. Now to decide on what color binding to use...yellow/gold or a green. Pattern was found here https://patsloan.typepad.com/files/j...le-quilt-2.pdf
Thank you Pat Sloan and Jackie Padesky. I think I will hang this one up in the foyer when finished. |
The quilting turned out nicely. Your quilt is lovely. Tough choice on binding colors. What about a scrappy binding with both colors?

Really pretty as a pineapple quilt, but this time of year you could claim they are pumpkins with spiky leaves instead of stems. Any of your binding colors would look good, but I'm partial to gold.

Sometimes we go with what we have...the red and gold combo is very nice. I'm with dunster...gold binding would frame the quilt. It's good to recognize when you can or can't do something. Wrestling with too large a project can bring frustrations.

It is so beautiful! The color selection is great. The pineapples really stand out against the dark mauve/ red/purple color of the background. Nicely done.

Cute quilt! I try to coordinate my binding to both front and back, so I would choose the colour that works well with both.
|
nicely done and thanks for the link to the pattern

I like your pineapple quilt a lot! And the quilting works very well. For a quilt like this where the pineapples are the focus, I would use the background fabric for the binding so as to not distract from the pineapples.

Cute pineapple quilt. I want to make a mini one.

This is such a cute quilt! Love the background color you chose! The pineapples pop!
