I've posted this quilt in various stages along the way. Y'all convinced me to put some borders on it, and you were right about that. This was all paper pieced--seemed like it took FOREVER, but I enjoyed the process, and it was fun. Now that it's done, I wish I'd had it professionally quilted by a long-armer instead of doing STID on my home machine, but I didn't have the money, and the whole point of the exercise was to be frugal and use up some scraps. It is far from perfect, and you can trust me--you do NOT want to see the back of it! But still, I love the quilt, and I think it was worth my time. Hope you enjoy it, too.

Love it! You always do great work!

sgardner 11-05-2010 03:44 PM

It's totally beautiful. Your cat sort of looks like this quilt- a little bit of everything in him (or her). I've never seen a cat with that coloring.

I bet it will be loved for years to come.

ann clare 11-05-2010 04:12 PM

littlehud 11-05-2010 04:51 PM

That is just beautiful. It turned out great. I love your fur baby too. What a pretty kitty. Thanks for sharing.

jojosnana 11-05-2010 05:02 PM

I like it too! You certainly used many fabrics and they look terrific. Don't allow the quilt police to see the back, no one else will think of looking!

bailey 11-05-2010 05:04 PM

Beautiful quilt and gorgeous furry friend.

klgreene 11-05-2010 05:08 PM

Love your quilt. Is there a tute or where can I get the pattern? Thanks,
Alice

Mariposa 11-05-2010 05:19 PM

Very pretty! Love the colorful scraps! :)

Harmony 11-05-2010 07:50 PM

Sewingyankee--I paper pieced this from a pattern I printed from EQ software. n2scraplvr has a tutorial on this board on how to do it without paper piecing--her method would probably go a lot quicker! It wasn't really hard--just kind of tedious.

My quilt inspector Tuffy (a misnamed cat if ever there was one) is a sweetie pie. She kind of looks like an owl because she has a dark stripe running between her eyes and down her nose, and her coloring is sort of orange with black in her undercoat. She's a BIG girl! Her fur is incredibly soft--she hardly mats at all because the mats just won't stay in. She's one of the sweetest cats I've ever had, and she makes me laugh ever single day. She's my best buddy!

GwenH 11-05-2010 07:52 PM

Very nice, the colours are wonderful!

Annaquilts 11-05-2010 07:55 PM

And I love it too. Your cat seems in love with it. So pretty! I have been wanting to make one for so long but will probably do a wonky one like another poster showed several days ago, not sure if I am that fond of that much paper piecing, but definitely interested in scrappy.

Ditter43 11-05-2010 08:22 PM

I love your beautiful quilt!! All the colorful fabric really pop! Great job.... :D

gramqlts 11-05-2010 08:41 PM

Just absolutely gorgeous quilt! And the inspector looks almost just like my youngest daughter's cat Purvis who just turned 14 yo. Is it a Maine Coon?

sewnsewer2 11-05-2010 08:44 PM

Very pretty and it looks like your quilt inspector is claiming it :)

Lynnie25 11-05-2010 09:36 PM
