Pink 1930's Tumbler
3 Attachment(s)
One of our guild members had a yardage sale and there were lots of 1930's fat quarters. I also found some yardage that was perfect, it is "cheater" fabric, you know, the kind you don't have to do anything to, it looks great just sitting there. I had some bubble gum pink fabric that was once a duvet, until I rescued it from Goodwill. It gave me over six yards of pink, just waiting for some 1930's fabric. I think all the colors married nicely. I quilted it myself with a simple outline using a walking foot.
Front of quilt with alternating tumblers in pink and prints This is the fabulous cheater fabric, perfect for the back. The back looks better than the front I spent so much time on! LOL Closeup of quilting, I kept trying to lift the loose thread, until I remembered it is a photograph, habits are ingrained, see a loose thread, reach for it. I love your quilt! 30's reproduction fabric is my favorite and you did a great job. That backing fabric is perfect, goes wonderful with the front.:)

First tumbler quilt I ever liked! The back is fantastic, too! What size is the quilt? Wondering also what size tumbler template you used. Now you have me adding that to my bucket list. LOL Great job.

Lovely, your quilting sets off the pattern well. It's a very comforting looking quilt. Very cool.

Love those 30's repros. You did a great job putting this together.

Nicely done!

Wow that is just gorgeous and I love your fabric :)

what a great 'rescue' quilt! the pink is perfect for the rest of your fabrics

Nothing screams more being a 30s quilt than bubble gum pink. What a perfect backing for your quilt. You quilted it perfectly exactly how it would have been hand quilted back in the 30s.
