Ovie did a wonderful job peicing this quilt and you made it simply exquisite with your beautiful quilting. I would love to see some closeups if you have them.

I too love to quilt feathers. I find the motion of doing them relaxing and fun at the same time and the results are so pleasing to the eye for me. It is a texture you just can't help but run your fingers over it when it is done.

Just beautiful - I love your feather 'hearts'.

ItsJustMe 06-19-2012 10:17 AM

some of the prettiest quilting I have ever seen...

laffygiraffe 06-19-2012 11:32 AM

Isn't that "Aunt Sukey's Choice" done in pink and green? Is it just me or does anyone else think we should share and keep the traditional names of patterns? Maybe I am just an old-fashioned gal, but I would hate to try to find "Pink Lemonade " in the quilt names lists.
Aren't we bending history to lose the traditional names? Maybe not. Maybe "A rose by another other name would smell as sweet," but try to find the words to " The Star-Sprinkled Bummer"!

laffygiraffe 06-19-2012 11:35 AM

FAB quilt by the way. I did an "Aunt Sukey's Choice " 30 years ago and loved it.
Love the colors.

Not aunt sukies choice. Here are links to Aunt Sukies choice blocks.

the pattern REALLY is called Pink Lemonade. http://www.quiltmaker.com/patterns/d....html?idx=9386

So I guess that pretty much nullifies this particular rant.

BTW it took me all of 2 minutes to verify.

piepatch 06-20-2012 05:23 AM

Very pretty quilt. You made it even prettier with your wonderful quilting!!

laffygiraffe 06-20-2012 10:18 AM

Rant, huh? I stand corrected and chastised.
I do however, maintain my original point that I think keeping the original names of quilt patterns and sharing them is a good idea. (like Pink Lemonade's creator acknowledging that it was a variation of "Peace and Goodwill." )

Peace and goodwill to you.
