Your work is gorgeous...love the quilt and matching bag and the boots look great. Glad you experimented with waxed paper and it worked a tip for all of us to try.

bobolee 10-20-2010 04:06 AM

I can't believe you got the quilt and bag done in one week. Great job!! Both are beautiful. Your boot quilt in progress looks so fun and quite charming, can't wait to see it finished.

i never heard of a special ruler for prarie points.
the 3D pinwheels is from a tute here on the board and the boot is a coloring book page I found on the net and cut up for an applique pattern, the bag pattern, I forgot the name but it's a Lazy Girl pattern, I've made some smaller ones to sell as purses
thank you all so much for puffing me up!

What a lucky baby, that's wonderful & a diaper bag too! When I saw the boots I thought Kathy must be from TX & sure enough you are. I'm from AZ so the boots speak to me too.

kd124 10-20-2010 10:02 PM

Baby quilt and bag are adorable. Love the boots.

k3n 10-21-2010 12:43 AM

All beautiful - I love eveything but the bag is outstanding - you should go into production! :-D

kathy 10-21-2010 10:40 AM

k3n, my intention when I bought the pattern was to make them to sell with baby quilts, at the very bottom of the pattern she says " you may only make these bags as gifts, do not make them to sell". that realyy pissed me off but it IS her design.. maybe I'll offer the quilts for sale at a hefty price and add the bag as a "gift" LOL

Alondra 10-21-2010 03:46 PM

Love the quilt and bag, and the boots are cute, too!

Lynneander 10-21-2010 03:58 PM

Wonderful job on both!

n2scraplvr 10-21-2010 04:12 PM

Love the quilt and diaper bag the most. They make a perfect twosome for gifts or to sell. Too bad you can't sell the bag so design your own pattern! :-D :-D ;-)

CarolynFisJus 10-22-2010 05:44 AM

love the bag...what pattern??

Kathy, my understanding is that pattern designers don't have the right to forbid this. There have been discussions on the Qoard in the past about this and this has been the general consensus -- certainly if you're not planning to going into production on an industrial scale. Making a few to sell on an ad hoc basis shouldn't be a problem.

PS your idea of 'gifting' them with a quilt is a good one - here in the UK a while back there were issues about what could and couldn't be sold under the Sunday trading laws - for example, you could buy a magazine but not a book (including the Bible), you could buy a cabbage but not a can of paint, etc. Some DIY stores were offering cabbages at £20 each, with a free tin of paint thrown in! They made their point and now the law is revised. :-D

jdavis 10-22-2010 08:58 AM

Great stuff!
The prairie points on the tote are a fantastic idea!

gramquilter2 10-22-2010 10:22 AM

Beautiful quilt and bag, love the boots quilt.

ruthrec 10-23-2010 05:24 AM

I would love to have the bag pattern. Is is available for sale or for free? Beautiful work.
