Hello everyone. I did the Pioneer BOM quilt here on the Board last year and finally got it finished and quilted in time for my Dad's birthday! I 'borrowed' Marcia's idea of framing each block in one of three fabrics, green, navy and red. Thanks Marcia! :-D I did SITD around the frames and sashing and took a path through each individual block as well. Then I did the Hooked on Feathers FMQ technique in the outer borders from Sally Terry's book of the same name. Dad was thrilled with it - he finally appreciates the work that goes into quilting, after a little 'training' from me! He USED to be of the 'what's the point of cutting up fabric only to sew it back together' school of thought, but now I've set him straight and he loves his quilt! :-D
Hanging on the line - sorry about the shadow! Label with the block names My happy Daddy! LOL |
