The layout is my own.

I am going to make another of these one day, when I think I can get in the mood to quilt it!

I love your beautiful quilt! I love monkey's and collect them. I wish I could buy it from you but no money and giving to a child is better than selling! Great job! :XD:

I really like this and to think a child in need will receive it.

Your quilt is amazing. love the colours, the design, the PIRATES. I have the monkey shines set but haven't made it yet. May I ask which machine you used and what size hoop is required? Thanks for sharing your darling quilt with us.

Thank you. These were sewn out on my Bernina 830, the largest designs were done in the Jumbo hoop, which is roughly 10" x 16". I've also done the monkey shines quilt, prior to owning this machine, and did those in a 6 x 9 hoop, splitting the designs in my embroidery software.

Just visit a local childrens home or hospital, you'll find so many children that need hugs you won't have time to make quilts for all of them. Have you considered donating it for a fund raiser for the pediatrics ward of a hospital or for something for a childrens' home? Just a thought.

Ditto!

kclausing 01-19-2011 10:21 AM

OMG!!! This is spectacular. I absolutely love it. I wish it had been fussy cut fabric instead of embroidery because I'd love to make one of these for my 18 mo old grandson. he is a monkey boy. But embroidery is just too hard on my hands. and I don't have a machine.

Maybe if I look around I can find similar fabric to fusst cut to make something liek this.

You did an awesome job and your quilting is gorgeous!!!!!

MrsM 01-19-2011 10:23 AM

I love it. It is just so precious.

Very cute quilt!

dunster 01-19-2011 11:06 AM

from what you said I expected to see a poor job of quilting, but it is just the opposite - beautiful quilt, cute design, and WONDERFUL quilting.

luvspaper 01-19-2011 11:09 AM

What a wonderful quilt. Some child is going to be very blessed to receive it.

I too would be tempted to donate it to a good cause that has an annual auction/raffle fundraiser....I suspect it would raise a large amount of money! While it wouldn't go to a child in need, you might be helping many more than you know.

What a great thing you have done....and I agree the quilting is gorgeous!

cjtinkle 01-19-2011 11:11 AM

Thank you everyone. I contacted a friend who works in the ICU at the Arkansas Children's hospital, a home has been found for the quilt, and I will be sending along the pink confetti quilt (I posted it a couple of months ago) I made so that there is one for a little girl as well.

I love the idea of doing an auction, with the proceeds going to a local charity! I may do another with that goal in mind, thanks for those of you who suggested that!

I could use a hug! That is just too cute. A friend and I decided just last week to make quilts for an orphanage in Little Rock. I don't believe there is any way we can make any that cute!

Sandi Furtado 01-19-2011 04:09 PM

Incredible quilting. I think that is great about donating it to a small child in need of a hug.
