Here's a little purse I made today. I saw them on another forum and had to try. It turned out really cute. After seeing the prices for purse handles ($6.00 or better) I went to a thrift store and got a purse for $2.00. I also put pockets on the inside.

Very nice!! (And no one but you will pay any attention to what the inside looks like  )

Thanks everyone. I had fun making it. When I figure out how to fix the raw edges i'm going to make a few as Christmas presents. My next small project is to make a matching checkbook cover to go with my pretty new purse!

Love it and great idea for the handle.

I like your new purse, very ingenious :D :D :D

Love the purse. Great idea about putting pockets inside. I do not know who designs purses these days but none of them have any zippers or pockets inside. Boy do I hate that!!! Takes you a half hour to find anything. Obviously not designed by a woman.

you did a great job, very pretty purse! You really had your thinking cap on when you bought the used purse for the handles :D I have seen placemat purses before but have not tried one myself. You may have inspired me to give it a try. Just think you have a start on Christmas gifts already, lucky girl.

I love to make purses. I have a Just Jennifer pattern that I love it has a lot of pockets inside, everyone that has one just loves the pockets.
Yours is nice also. Happy quilting. |
