I read about how to make it in an embroidery site. Just put embroidery design of your choice on a placemat. Attach webbed handles any length you want. Then sew placemats together with 1/2 inch seam, wrong sides together. Done! They are not lined. I just went to Walmart and picked some placemats that I liked.
