I always shy away from plaids and I think if I saw one in a kit I would run screaming the other direction. I'll have to say though...you did a great job! It looks just perfect in that spot and you have a lovely home!!
I'm going to have to reconsider that running away thing from the looks of yours. |
Thank you all - the quilt is growing on me!! The plaids drove me crazy, but they don't annoy me as much on the wall as they did in the sewing machine.
The house was a multi-year project for our retirement. We are really excited about it and enjoy it greatly. |
Yup! Great house, great quilt!

GREAT wallhanging. Would look wonderful in my home! Working
with plaids may be a pain in the butt, but definitely worth the work. You really did a beautiful job..... |
What a carefree jaunty personality it has. Looks like a winner to me :!: And you know what :?: --leaves or not--the colors make it perfect for a autumn wall hanging :) You done good :!:
|
(every time I look at it it looks more perfect) just so you know... |
WOW! I really like that!!!! I'll take your lessons to heart! Thanks for the info. Love the quilt - am jealous of the house! :D

Here is one I made. All the stars are homespun plaids but none of the points are the same or match the center. I got the pattern on line
I really like yours |

I took the weekend off from my computer and found that I missed a lot!!
Several have commented on the house It was a 4 yr project for retirement. We took a standard plan and did it as a timber frame and then applied the US Energy Saver Standards. Its been a chore to finish but we like it! Very energy efficient we even did geothermal heat :-)

I have to admit though, you've kind of scared me away from plaid stars!

Love your house! What a piece of art! We built a rustic house 4 years ago, and I can truly appreciate the work of art your house is. :o

Would absolutely love to see your den and kitchen if you don't mind posting that for us.
