Have started quilting my scrappy queen size, this is only my second hand quilted project quilt size, and I am loving it. I am trying hard to keep my stitches even rather than going for small, so this quilt is really a practice one. I am posting this for those of you who think hand quilting is not for them, plain and simple can be just as enjoyable! Gal

Wonderful job! I do hand quilt too, it's relaxing.

It looks good, nice stitches.

I like the plain and simple, it reminds me of my mother's hand quilting. I didn't consider hand quilting because the stitches are so small and time consuming. Love to see the finished quilt.

Hand quilting is my FAVORITE too!! So relaxing and I can watch TV at the same time. Your stitches look good. Keep on going.

You are off to a great start, your stitches look nice & neat! I agree with your idea of not worrying about stitches per inch.

I envy those of you who do the hand-quilting ~ maybe when I retire I'll give it a go, I'm afraid it will take me a lifetime to do one quilt :)

Fantastic

You are doing great! I just finished my first one also and I am hooked.
One little hint: if you quilt 1/4" away from the seamline you have the guidance of the seamallowance to quilt along (you feel it with your fingers) and best of all, you have to go through one or two layers of fabric less. Depending whether you pressed your seams open or to the darker side.
And the best of all: you stop dreaming of a longarm with frame   handquilting makes the quilt so much softer.
Happy quilting and I look forward to see the competed quilt.

I just started hand quilting too. I agree plain and simple can be awesome too, it reminds me of the heirloom quilts I've seen. :-)

Good job. I love hand quilting also. It is relaxing to set down and have it in your lap and see the progress you make. I am working on one for our youngest son.
