I had never heard of the D9P until this message board (I may be really out of touch with new quilting). I finally looked up what it was after seeing all the posts about it. Interesting design so I started playing around with it. I have no idea if anyone has come up with these placements and only using 3 colors but, it's what I came up with.

I may play around with it a little more and see what would look good in the white block areas on one of them. Something that would tie in with the rest of it or totally different like a star.

They look interesting, I hope you keep playing and even add more colors.

Thank you for posting this, it does show how good this block is for producing so many different finished designs.

I also hope you keep playing around with this. I am making 3 quilts with the D9P pattern.Have the 9-patch blocks done for 2 of them,so I would appreciate the input. Do you have special software to do those designs? Thanks for the help.

I love every time someone posts a picture of their D9P quilt. I eventually want to make one and I really appreciate you showing us so many layout options with the blocks. This is wonderful--I too have bookmarked this thread.

Thank you

I added some stars in the one with the large blank areas. I looked at McCalls quilting and there are about a half dozen blocks that have a small corner square.

I just use MS Paint. Do screen shots, cut and paste (which is why the grid isn't perfect). Maybe I could do the same in EQ4 that I have.
