I think I like it better without the stripe.

It's beautiful but I too vote no stripe
It's more dramatic without the stripe border but with the border you don't have to worry about perfectly matching points!
with out the stripe.
I like it better without that stripe, and agree that I would probably use it as a border instead.
I looks like it matches up perfectly, so put the stripe on the outside, as a border. That way, you can show off you awesome perfect work!
I like it without.
Better without.
Either way would be good, but I like the stripe in between the braids, really pops them. Just my humble opinion.
That is a pretty pattern, thanks for giving me the opportunity to see it. As for which one I like best...I like it without the braid.
 |
I definately like it with the stripe. It adds more depth. Maybe 1 braid, 1 stripe, 2 braids, 1 stripe, 1 braid, etc.
I like it better without the stripe in the middle. It looks disjointed to me. The stripe on the outside would be a very nice frame. You did such a beautiful job in both choosing colors and assembly.
no stripe in the middle, but great for border
W/O stripe! run the stripe border away from the quilt. That way you don't have to worry about those L-O-N-G stretches of stripes being cut perfectly! easier to piece the border too if you aren't into one long cut. Gonna be a beauty... Great work!
I like the stripe.
I agree with no stripe. That will look really great. Be sure to post a pic when you're done!
with the stripe in the middle
I like it with out the stripe in the middle. It splits it in half but as a border it will inclose it. Just me thinking out loud. Gail

no stripe in the middle. and when you use the stripe for borders, try cutting it so stripe is horizontal.
No stripe, border maybe.
without!

I vote no stripe.

Without. What a great quilt this is going to be!
If you put a piece in - between the strips, don't use the stripe. Your quilt is nice and striking, and this stripe 'cheapens' it. I think you need to have perhaps a red or black stripe flanked by two red or black stripes, which are a little thinner, on the outside. The particular stripe that you have chosen is not a suitable one for that quilt.
I love the stripe.
honestly - the first one would be my choice
I vote no stripe. Use it for the border. I think it is beautiful no matter which way you do it though.

No stripe

I like it best without the stripe. Post pics! Love your colors.
I agree, the stripe would be better as a border. Maybe an inner border.
I'm in the no stripe camp.
I love the grafic look without the stripped border. It really jumps out at me. Love the Black, White and Red.
I like it without the stripe in the center. Beautiful design!! I think a solid binding would really make it pop since there is a stripe appearance with the design. Maybe a red binding. I think the stripe might detract from the rest and it looks so good now. Just my opinion.
