no stripe in the middle. and when you use the stripe for borders, try cutting it so stripe is horizontal.

Without. What a great quilt this is going to be!

If you put a piece in - between the strips, don't use the stripe. Your quilt is nice and striking, and this stripe 'cheapens' it. I think you need to have perhaps a red or black stripe flanked by two red or black stripes, which are a little thinner, on the outside. The particular stripe that you have chosen is not a suitable one for that quilt.

I love the stripe.
