Alva, I'm not generally a fan of scrappy quilts but your quilt is bright, cheerful and well laid out so certainly not ugly; I like it and the strip pieced border compliments the blocks. Riot in the scrap bin is partly an appropriate name because your quilt is well organized!.

I think it is wonderful. i've made several janes, FW, D9P, 30's, so many hard ones, and i have a scrappy quilt on my bed right now, instead of any of them.......

Somebody needs to invent a little lawn mower thing, so we can just "mow" the back when we're ready to cut the threads.

NOOOO way is that 'plum ugly'!!! Scrappy is always pretty & soooo colorful!! Great way of trying to reduce our stashes, huh?

THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT AN UGLY QUILT!!! I love it! I am partial to scrappys, but that is beautiful. Thanks a lot, another one to add to the list. HA. Whatever name you go with it just can't be "Plum ugly". Looking forward it seeing it quilted. Thanks for sharing.

That's a great quilt! I love it and hope you feel proud of it. I could never do a scrappy quilt and have it come out as nicely as yours.

Here is the quilt top finished. Posted it several days ago under title of Plum Ugly Quilt (or something like that). i received several suggestions on finishing it up and making it larger.
I decided to add another row of blocks and put in a plum (purple) 1" border. Then I remembered that I had 200 or more crazy crumb 3 1/2" blocks put away so I pulled those out for the outside border. I ended up taking a 1/2" seam to join the crumb blocks so they would fit better. Still not perfect on the corner but I can live with that. I will use the same purple fabric for the binding. I love how it turned out. Decided the name maybe should be "Riot in the Stash Bin" or something along that line. One reason...there is a riot of strings on the back that need trimming! UGH!! I love it! Brights are my favorites and your quilt is full of them. Love the border, the whole quilt makes me feel happy!
